Hold off on Bears pass-catcher props until Caleb Williams' status (week to week, hamstring) is settled. Expect a conservative Giants offense under Jameis Winston, with targets funneling to Malik Nabers and Isaiah Likely. Bryce Young and his receivers are the Week 2 storyline most worth taking seriously, but check whether their lines have already moved.
Bears Crash: From 59 Points to 3
One week after a 59-37 win over Carolina that Yahoo called the highest-scoring Week 1 game ever, Chicago scored three points. Minnesota won 9-3 at Soldier Field in a game played through wind and rain. Yahoo's Week 2 recap summed it up in its headline: the Bears' offense did "a complete (and ugly) 180."
The bigger problem came in the fourth quarter. Caleb Williams went down with a right hamstring injury. On Monday, head coach Ben Johnson told ESPN that Williams is "week to week," according to ABC7 Chicago. Johnson doesn't expect him to practice this week, but he hasn't ruled Williams out for next Monday night's home game against the Eagles. If Williams can't go, Tyson Bagent is next in line.
For fantasy players, there are two separate problems here.
Problem one: the quarterback. Until Chicago announces a decision, every Bears prop and DFS price is based on a quarterback who may not play. Monday night games give you extra time, but they also mean the news can come late in the week.
Problem two: the pass catchers were already struggling. In Week 1, the Bears scored eight offensive touchdowns, and Yahoo noted that Luther Burden, Rome Odunze and Colston Loveland still did very little. The touchdowns went to the running backs. After Week 2, Yahoo wrote that the signature pass catchers were sitting on two straight washout games, and that the Big 3 had been outproduced by a lesser-known receiver for the second week in a row. That slump started before Williams got hurt.
Fairness check: the Week 2 weather was rough for everyone, and Minnesota's offense also got stuck. Aaron Jones carried 23 times for 103 yards in an otherwise muddy game. One bad-weather day doesn't define either offense, but the Bears' receiving situation has been weak twice now.
Dart Out: The Giants Lose Their Young QB for the Season
The Giants' Week 1 looked like a breakthrough. Jaxson Dart went 23-of-29 for 230 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions in a 28-20 Sunday night win over Dallas, per NBC New York.
Week 2 ended almost as soon as it started. Dart was hurt on the Giants' opening drive against the Rams on Monday Night Football. He got sandwiched on a third-down pass and hurt his left knee. He was 3-of-5 for 20 yards before the injury and was ruled out after halftime. The Giants lost 28-6.
On Wednesday, NBC Sports reported the diagnosis: injuries to the MCL and PCL, ending Dart's 2026 season. Jameis Winston is expected to start.
What does that mean for fantasy? NBC Sports' outlook doesn't sugarcoat it. Winston completed passes at a rate 25% below expectation in relief, the worst mark in the league. The likely result is a run-heavy, conservative Giants offense, with the targets that remain going mostly to tight end Isaiah Likely and wide receiver Malik Nabers. Nabers also hurt his shoulder Monday but returned to the game.
- Malik Nabers: His target share should stay high, but the quality of those targets probably drops. A conservative offense means fewer deep shots and a lower ceiling for the whole passing game.
- Isaiah Likely: A tight end who soaks up short targets can actually benefit when a team plays it safe. He's worth watching closely in PPR formats.
- Jameis Winston: NBC Sports calls him usable in superflex leagues. In DFS, he's a high-variance play rather than a reliable option.
Bryce Young Breaks Out
Bryce Young has been the opposite of the Bears' story. Through two weeks he has six touchdown passes.
In Week 1, in the 59-37 loss to Chicago, Young threw for 361 yards and three touchdowns at 9.8 yards per attempt. You could write that off as a product of the game: Chicago's defense was leaky and the scoreboard was a pinball machine.
Week 2 was a different kind of game and the same result. Carolina beat Atlanta 34-3. Young threw for 287 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions and took only two sacks. Yahoo noted that he's feasted on great matchups, but "they don't hand out 287 passing yards and three touchdowns at the airport."
The supporting cast is making the case too:
- Tetairoa McMillan caught 5 passes for 101 yards on 10 targets. Yahoo called him "a legitimate alpha."
- Jalen Coker followed his 8-138-2 Week 1, the best wide receiver score on DraftKings' main slate, with 8 catches for 66 yards on nine targets.
- Darren Waller had only three catches for 33 yards but scored twice in the red zone.
- Chuba Hubbard added 64 yards and a touchdown.
The schedule is the swing factor. Yahoo flagged a favorable Week 3 matchup for the Carolina run game and a visit from what it called a "leaky" Lions defense in Week 4. Young's prices on DFS sites and his prop lines will adjust after two strong weeks. The question is whether they adjust enough.
How the Week 2 Millionaire Was Won
Week 1's contest rewarded a lineup built for a shootout. Week 2 was a different kind of slate. DraftKings Network said weather and strong defensive showings kept scoring in check, and it called it a rough week overall for running backs.
The featured NFL $3M Fantasy Football Millionaire cost $20 to enter and drew 172,761 entries. User elidkatz1 won it with 232.38 points, more than five points clear of second place. For comparison, the Week 1 winner needed 273.98 points.
| Slot | Player | FPTS | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| QB | Brock Purdy (SF) | 28.48 | 287 pass yds, 2 pass TD, 1 rush TD |
| RB | Christian McCaffrey (SF) | 22.6 | 2 rush TD, 100th career TD |
| RB | J.K. Dobbins | 3.6 | Left the game early |
| WR | Jaxon Smith-Njigba (SEA) | 45.5 | 9-155-3, top score of the day |
| WR | CeeDee Lamb (DAL) | 38.3 | 8-153-2 |
| WR | Tre Tucker (LV) | 25.9 | 5-119-1, 0.7% owned |
| TE | Dalton Schultz (HOU) | 29 | 12-140 on 14 targets |
| FLEX | George Kittle (SF) | 18 | 4-80-1 |
| DST | Patriots | 21 | 5.5% owned, defensive TD |
| Total | 232.38 | 1st of 172,761 | |
Three lessons stand out.
1. The winner mostly skipped the early games. Eight games kicked off at 1 p.m. ET, and DraftKings said they were among the lower-scoring games of the day. The winning lineup used only two roster spots on them: Dalton Schultz and the Patriots defense. Schultz had 12 catches for 140 yards with Nico Collins (hamstring) out and was the top tight end on the slate by almost 10 points. New England beat Pittsburgh 20-3 with four sacks, an interception, a fumble recovery and a defensive touchdown, and only 5.5% of lineups had them.
2. A full 49ers stack. San Francisco beat Miami 35-13 to move to 2-0. The winning lineup took Purdy, McCaffrey and Kittle, and played Kittle in the FLEX next to Schultz, so it ran two tight ends.
3. The 0.7% receiver. Tre Tucker had only two catches for 27 yards in Week 1. In Week 2, he caught five of six targets for 119 yards and a touchdown against the Chargers. Fewer than one in a hundred lineups played him. DraftKings called him "the great pivot play." Paired with big games from Jaxon Smith-Njigba (three touchdowns from backup Drew Lock, who threw to him on 11 of 26 attempts) and CeeDee Lamb, it gave the lineup a top-five finish at every receiver spot.
There was one bad pick: J.K. Dobbins left his game early and scored 3.6. The lineup won anyway. That's another reminder that a tournament winner doesn't have to be perfect, just better than everyone else.
Other Week 2 Notes for Props and DFS
- Saints upset the Ravens in Baltimore. Tyler Shough threw for 252 yards and accounted for two touchdowns. Yahoo noted that he kept his downfield throws concentrated on three main targets, and it would start any of them.
- TreVeyon Henderson arrived. In his first 2026 action, he ran 16 times for 76 yards and a touchdown in the Patriots' 20-3 win.
- DeVonta Smith got the targets. After Saquon Barkley left early with what DraftSharks reported as a left-arm stinger (he returned for the second half), Philadelphia leaned on the pass. Smith went 10-117-1, and Jalen Hurts threw for 264 yards and two scores.
- Schultz is a target magnet without Collins. His 14 targets were the story of Houston's day. Nobody else on the team topped 37 receiving yards.
How to Play It on PrizePicks and DraftKings
On PrizePicks, these storylines come down to individual stat lines. Young's passing yards, McMillan's receiving yards and Nabers' receptions under a new quarterback are the kinds of numbers where two weeks of fresh data can disagree with preseason expectations. Pick the stat lines where you have a real opinion, and don't pad an entry just to fill it. If you're new to the format, compare payouts in our PrizePicks vs Underdog payout breakdown.
On DraftKings, the Week 3 Millionaire is a $2.75M contest with $1 million to first and a $20 entry on another 13-game slate. The two winning lineups so far had very different builds. One played three running backs in a shootout. The other played heavy receivers and two tight ends on a low-scoring day. The lesson is to read the slate in front of you instead of copying last week's winner. Our full breakdown of how the Week 1 Millionaire was won covers the other side of that contrast.
Whatever you play, size it sensibly. Two weeks of data is still a small sample, and big tournaments are long shots by design. Our 1% bankroll rule keeps a bad week from becoming a bad month.
The Bottom Line
Week 2 reset expectations. The Bears went from historic to helpless, and Caleb Williams is week to week heading into a Monday night game against Philadelphia. The Giants lost Jaxson Dart for the season and turn to Jameis Winston, which points toward a conservative offense built around Nabers and Likely. And Bryce Young now has six touchdown passes in two games.
If you want to play those storylines one stat line at a time, PrizePicks is the cleanest way to do it. If you'd rather build full lineups and take a shot at the Week 3 Millionaire, DraftKings is the place. Both are available in eligible states — check your state before you sign up.
