Fantasy Football ADP Risers and Fallers:
Late-August Draft Check

Draft season is at its peak, and average draft position is moving fast. Some players are climbing because of real news. Others are sliding for reasons the market may be overreacting to. Using FantasyPros' real-time ADP snapshot from August 12, FanDuel's rankings from August 13, and this week's injury news, here's what's changed and what to do about it.

⚡ Quick Verdict

Stefon Diggs was the biggest riser in FantasyPros' August 12 seven-day snapshot and still looks affordable as a mid-round receiver in Washington. Chuba Hubbard and Courtland Sutton are sliding for real reasons, not noise. Jayden Higgins, who was rising, is now out for the season after tearing his ACL on Tuesday. Take him off your board, and treat the Texans' receiver room as an open question.

How to Read This Snapshot

Every number in the risers and fallers sections comes from FantasyPros' real-time ADP report published August 12, which tracked how players moved over the previous seven days. ADP is a moving target, so think of these as directions rather than exact prices. A player who rose 10 spots in early August may have kept rising since, or may have settled.

The value of a snapshot like this isn't the exact pick number. It's seeing which way the market is leaning and asking whether it's right. When the crowd moves a player sharply, you either want to get ahead of it or fade it. Doing nothing means you're drafting with last month's information.

The Top of the Board Is Settled

The first round looked shakier a month ago, when Jahmyr Gibbs and Bijan Robinson were both holding in for new contracts. That's over. Bijan signed a three-year extension with Atlanta on August 4, and Gibbs signed a richer one with Detroit two days later. We broke down that debate in our Gibbs vs. Bijan guide.

FanDuel's PPR rankings as of August 13 reflect the new stability. Their top seven:

  1. Jahmyr Gibbs, RB, Lions
  2. Ja'Marr Chase, WR, Bengals
  3. Bijan Robinson, RB, Falcons
  4. Puka Nacua, WR, Rams
  5. CeeDee Lamb, WR, Cowboys
  6. Justin Jefferson, WR, Vikings
  7. Christian McCaffrey, RB, 49ers

FanDuel's Austan Kas put it plainly: Gibbs belongs in the conversation for the No. 1 overall pick. There's little debate about who belongs in the top handful of picks. The real action is in the middle rounds.

Stefon Diggs, WR, Commanders

Diggs was the biggest riser in the August 12 snapshot, jumping nearly 33 spots in a single week. He's now in Washington, and the market is waking up to what he did last season. Per FantasyPros, Diggs finished as the WR23 in points per game in 2025 despite running a route on only 65.4% of his team's dropbacks. When he was on the field, he produced. His 2.53 yards per route run ranked eighth in the league.

That's the profile of a receiver who could outperform his draft slot if his role grows. Even after the jump, a pick around 109 overall is a mid-round price. The risk is that he's still rising, so if you want him, you may need to take him a round earlier than his ADP says.

Matthew Golden, WR, Packers

Golden's rise is about opportunity. FantasyPros pointed to the vacated targets in Green Bay's receiver room as the driver. Young receivers with an open path to targets are exactly the kind of late-round bets that win leagues. At a pick around 130, the cost is low.

Parker Washington, WR, Jaguars

Washington was already the highest-drafted player on this list, at WR30, and he still climbed nearly seven spots. When a player keeps rising from an already elevated price, it usually means the market expects a real role. He's no longer a sleeper.

Michael Wilson, Hunter Henry and Bo Nix

Wilson's nine-spot jump puts him near WR39. Henry is rising as a late tight end in New England, a passing game that added A.J. Brown this offseason. Nix's climb to QB13 makes him one of the more popular mid-round quarterback targets for drafters who wait at the position.

Other names trending up in the same report included Wan'Dale Robinson (Titans), Josh Downs (Colts), Jacory Croskey-Merritt (Commanders), Jalen Coker (Panthers), Dak Prescott, and tight ends Travis Kelce, Dalton Kincaid and Isaiah Likely.

Jayden Higgins: From Riser to Out for the Season

Jayden Higgins was one of the risers in the August 12 snapshot, climbing to WR52. Six days later, his season was over. Higgins tore his ACL during a joint practice with the Raiders in Houston on Tuesday, August 18, and he's out for 2026.

🚑
Remove him from your board. If you drafted Jayden Higgins in a best ball league before Tuesday, there's nothing to do. In redraft, he's a drop candidate or an IR stash only if your league allows it and you have room. Don't confuse him with Tee Higgins in Cincinnati, who isn't affected.

Higgins caught 41 passes for 525 yards and six touchdowns in 17 games last season, with 10 starts. Those targets go somewhere. Houston's remaining receivers include Nico Collins, Xavier Hutchinson, Justin Watson, Tank Dell and Jaylin Noel.

Collins' role as Houston's top target doesn't change much. The interesting question is who becomes the No. 2. Until Houston's preseason usage gives a clearer answer, the smart move is to treat it as a committee. Don't chase any single replacement with an early pick.

Biggest Fallers

Player Position Rank (ADP) 7-Day Move
Makai Lemon, PHIWR44 (116.0)−11.8
Kenny Gainwell, TBRB38 (110.2)−7.1
Chuba Hubbard, CARRB29 (79.4)−6.5
Courtland Sutton, DENWR40 (101.1)−4.8

Source: FantasyPros real-time ADP, seven-day window, published August 12.

Chuba Hubbard, RB, Panthers

Hubbard's slide is backed by data. Per FantasyPros, he was just the RB40 in points per game last season and lost his starting job to Rico Dowdle. Among 49 qualifying running backs, Hubbard ranked dead last in both missed tackle rate and explosive run rate. On top of that, Jonathon Brooks could lead the Carolina backfield.

At RB29, Hubbard is still being drafted as a starter-level back. That price assumes a role he may not have. Unless you're getting him meaningfully later, this is a slide worth following.

Courtland Sutton, WR, Broncos

Sutton finished as a top-12 receiver last season, but FantasyPros noted that the finish was driven by touchdowns. He was only 20th in points per game. Denver's receiver room also got more crowded after the Jaylen Waddle trade, and Sutton is 31.

Touchdown-driven seasons are notoriously hard to repeat. With more competition for targets, the market is right to be cautious. He's falling toward a fair price, not a bargain.

Makai Lemon, WR, Eagles

Lemon took the biggest drop on the list, falling almost 12 spots. A drop that size pushes him into the double-digit rounds, a range where the price may start to look interesting again. Watch where he settles before you buy.

The Running Back Slide

The faller list was crowded with running backs. Besides Hubbard and Gainwell, the report flagged Zach Charbonnet, Kyle Monangai, Rachaad White, Jordan Mason, Isiah Pacheco, Aaron Jones, Jaylen Warren, Rico Dowdle, TreVeyon Henderson and Josh Jacobs as moving down. Mike Evans, now with the 49ers, also slid.

That's a lot of backs moving the same direction. Some of it is real news. Some of it is the market growing wary of committee backfields and older runners. When an entire position group falls together, prices can overshoot, and the best values often show up in the backs nobody wants to talk about.

Tight End: Two Elite Options, Then a Crowd

FanDuel noted that Trey McBride and Brock Bowers are the only two tight ends going in the top 40 per FantasyPros ADP. Everyone else comes later, and several are moving: Kelce at TE10, Kincaid at TE11 and Likely at TE12 in the August 12 snapshot, with Hunter Henry rising toward TE16.

The takeaway is simple. If you don't get McBride or Bowers, there's no reason to reach. The middle tier is bunched together, and you can wait.

Other Notes Worth Knowing

  • Brian Thomas Jr. is going at WR33, according to FanDuel's August 13 rankings. For a receiver with his ceiling, that's a price worth checking in your league.
  • Dak Prescott sits at QB9 in the snapshot, around pick 77. That's a reasonable mid-round quarterback price with weapons like CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens.
  • Mike Evans is now in San Francisco and slid to WR29 at around pick 65. Change of team plus age is a common reason for a discount.

How to Use ADP Movement in Your Draft

ADP tells you what other drafters think, not what's going to happen. Here's how to use it.

  • Get ahead of risers you believe in. If you like Diggs, don't wait for his ADP. By the time you draft, it's probably earlier.
  • Let fallers come to you. If a player is sliding for real reasons, like Hubbard, don't be the one to stop the slide.
  • Check the news before you draft. Jayden Higgins is the reminder. A player can go from riser to out for the season in six days.
  • Draft differently in best ball. In best ball, you can't pick up replacements. Our BBM VII strategy guide covers why depth and upside matter more there.

The Bottom Line

The top of the board is settled, with Gibbs, Chase and Bijan leading FanDuel's rankings. The middle rounds are where this month's movement is happening.

Stefon Diggs is the riser to buy, with real efficiency data behind the jump. Chuba Hubbard and Courtland Sutton are sliding for real reasons. Tight end is a two-player tier, then a crowd. And Jayden Higgins' ACL tear is a reminder to check injury news right up until your draft starts.
